Silk Road International Tourism Festival
The festival, held in September each year in the city of Xi’an, brings to life traditional gong and drum performances, firework displays, folk songs and dances and exhibitions celebrating the Silk Road.

Worshipping Ancestor Festival at the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor
In May each year, the people of Xi’an pay homage to their ancestors. The ceremonies they stage involve the funeral oration, sacrifices, the burning of incense sticks and paper money, the beating of drums, firecrackers, operas and the planting of cypress trees.
